In a move to demystify science and technology and to remove fear among students, the Transhumanist Association of Nigeria (TAN) yesterday flagged off its enlightenment campaign tour in schools.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony yesterday at the Federal Government Science Technical School, Abuja, the chairman of TAN, Engineer Innocent Ogu said TAN aimed at popularizing and practicalizing science and technology to the grassroots, to all cultures.

According to him TAN is the national chapter of the World Transhumanist Association (WTA) which aims to use a win-win ethical standard of excellence in science and technology to expand human capacities, and to support the development of new technologies that help everyone to have a better life.

Ogu stated that in a bid reveal these facts to the people in Africa, WTA and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology formed a partnership, adding that the collaboration has far visions and missions for Africa.

“One of the visions and missions has started to open up to our people. Here we are flagging off our campaign tours to all these states of our country and to many countries in Africa and the world,” he explained.
